LIVE BLOG - Mumbai Indians v. Kolkata Knight Riders - IPL Match 37

MI win by 13 runs.

15 off 2 and Krunal Pandya has almost done it for MI and they are still alive in this IPL.

KKR in trouble. Need 19 off 4 and Karthik is on strike.

Karthik hits a 4 and its 38 required off 14 balls.

Match looks in MI's favour as Russell is out now.

Muscled for 4 by Russell and now the equation is 54 off 24.

McClenaghan bowled a tidy over and now KKR need 60 off 30. Looks a nail-bitter!

Game on!!!!! 64 required from 36 balls and H. Pandya is now the highest wicket taker in this IPL

4th wicket for MI and suddenly MI are coming back in the match. Rana Out caught by Bumrah bowled H. Pandya for a well compiled 31

Leg spin worked for Markande and MI get Utthappa out caught at long off for 54

4 fours in the Cutting over and still 1 ball left. 111/2 in 12 overs

100 comes up in 11.2 overs. Things looking easy for KKR now.

The Crowd wants a 6, the DJ wants a 6, KKR want 89 more from 57 balls.

Cutting bowling too many slower balls and Utthappa was too smart for this one, hits a 4 and the score now is 91/2 off 10 overs.

MI desperately need a wicket now because KKR has enough firepower in their batting depth.

Utthappa is the 6th player to cross 4k+ runs thanks to Markande who dropped his catch earlier in this innings.

2 sixes in a row and Markande has taken some beating in his 1st over from Utthappa. Utthappa has thus crossed 4000 runs in IPL but will he get a chance in the Indian National team?

Here comes MI's trump card - Mayank Markande and he has been hit for a 4 on the very 1st ball by Nitish Rana.

KKR have lost 2 wickets but going with a decent run rate as they reach 60/2 in 7 overs

====================1st Innings===========================

So far so good for Mumbai Indians!

SuryaKumar Yadav and Evin Lewis have given Mumbai a perfect start on a sunny afternoon.

SuryaKumar has looked like the most responsible batsman for Mumbai scoring runs consistently and now he is among the top5 run getters in this IPL. Very Impressive as he will be knocking the National team's doors for a place in the top 25 players alongwith the likes of Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant and Ambati Rayudu in the Batsmen vacancies!

Evin Lewis just decided to take on Piyush Chawla after a six of his loose delivery on his very 1st ball.

KKR's too much of spin strategy doesn't seem to be working as MI have reached 72/0 in the 8th Over.

Mitchell Johnson with his bowling being hit for all round the park looks like not a good deal made by KKR this year!

Evin Lewis dropped on 38 by Rana. It could have been a good reflex catch but it was hit too hard.

Mumbai Indians team had promised to hit fours and sixes in the JIO advertisement just to dance alongwith Deepika but today they seem to be seriously living upto that promise.

Both batsmen looking to cut loose now.

Kuldeep Yadav has been in good form for India since last year but this IPL seems to be a different story for him.

And even today i get irritated by the Vodafone ZooZoo ads!

Current run rate is almost 10 an over with both batsmen closing in on their half centuries.

Finally a wicket for KKR! Lewis it is! Easy catch by Lynn. Good bowling by Russell. Rohit Sharma is in now.

Looking at the scoreline seems Russell might have his work cutout in the batting department today.

Hardik Pandya is certainly not digestible dancing in that JIO ad with Deepika.

We are halfway through and MI are on 95/1

With the firepower MI has, 200 looks definitely on the cards!!!

Another 50 for SuryaKumar Yadav. His 4th in this IPL. Good consistency.

Fliated delivery on the middle by Sunil Narine does the trick for KKR and Hitman is out caught!

Good strategy by MI to send Hardik Pandya up the order as this Mumbai pitch all know is not safe even if a team has 200 runs to defend

Catch dropped by Narine and SuryaKumar gets a life.

Fireworks are always expected from a hitter when Piyush Chawla is bowling and this time H. Pandya makes the most of it.

SuryaKumar Yadav looks a little tired now and its 13 overs done with a score 122/2

Tidy over by Johnson and its 150sec break called the CEAT Strategic timeout. Score 125/2 of 14overs.

The stage is set for some good boundary hitting now.

Magical delivery by Russell gets rid off SuryaKumar Yada for a well played 59(39)

Pandya brothers on the crease now and Senior Pandya hits a pull off a short ball from Russell for a four. Gutsy start by Krunal.

So somehow Russell, Johnson and Narine have bought the run rate down and 200 seems a bit difficult now for MI.

Last 5 overs there has been no fireworks! getting boring now! its Wankhede so there should be sixes!

MI desperate for runs and here comes Sunil Narine.

Krunal hits a six off Narine. Not a bad ball but its T20!

Smart bowling by Narine putting all his experience and gets Krunal out caught at long off.

Duminy comes in looks to cut but as usual cant play spin well and misses it. Narine has 1 more over to go and MI still not reached 150

Mumbai could have sent in Ishan Kishan instead of Duminy. Ishan is a power hitter we all know.

Johnson shows how a perfect bouncer is bowled followed by a wide. He is mixing it up.

Duminy not able to connect again. Seems another good over for KKR with 1 ball to go

200 looked very possible but seems MI would be happy with 180 seeing the smart bowling by KKR

Duminy finally connects 1 and scores a maximum off Narine followed by a couple.

MI is only getting singles. sixes have been rare in this innings. 170 in 19 overs lets see what we see in last over.

Good 1st ball bouncer by Prasidh and Duminy doesn't connect.

KKR has got a lot of young Indian talent from under19 this year's IPL and they are doing well. Shubhman Gill, Mavi. Nagarkoti is injured though. Prasidh is 22 doing some impressive bowling.

Another edge and another 4. Unlucky for the Young bowler. MI will take that.

Pandya missed the 5th ball and his bat goes in the air closer to the leg umpire. Karthik misses a run out.

Good last over and MI have scored 181/4 a little short that what they would have expected.
Catch you in 2nd innings.
