I will give you 2 of my real life experiences.
Experience 1: It was 2008 and me and my female friend got down of a local bus and were on our way walking till the college gate which is a distance of 5 mins(walking). We had an exam that day. She had a bad habit of studying while walking on the roads. Even i had a book in my hand but i was not comfortable studying in sunlight. But since there was exam in next 20 mins and when you see the other person studying and you are not studying then it feels like you are taking the exam for granted. So i started going through what she was studying. It was a topic which i couldn’t understand the other day. Being curious and in a hurry to get it explained from her, i quickly was about to point my finger on the topic in the book. But in the way my finger hit her breast(simultaneously had asked “Arey mujhe yeh bata na”). Me having a slow presence of mind continued with the question. After completing the question i realized. I was a little scared. But she reacted normally. We knew each other since we were 4 yrs old and she very well knew that there was no chance of me doing such a thing purposely(We were 16 at that time). Since she did not give any reaction i did not say sorry. I was feeling a little awkward ‘ki yaar sorry bolta bhi toh kaise?’ kind of situation. She is 25 today and even today she studies from books while walking on the roads.
Experience 2: It was Goregaon station in Mumbai and it was peak time of travelling with a lot of rush. Just when i got into the east there was 1 pervert who was coming in the opposite direction. This pervert grabbed the ass of a young woman who was right in front of me(Me and the woman in front were heading one direction) and then he ran away. The Woman turned back in anger and it was me. It got the shit scared out of me. Because i felt for just a single fraction of a second that i am dead now as this woman might have been in a misunderstanding sense that i grabbed her butt. To be true the moment she had turned back for that fraction of a second i had become a dead statue already. Thanks to her good senses that i was not in her radar as she sensed well that i was not the one who did it and the one who did it had actually fled from there.
These are common situations where men or i would say genuine men get scared that women might take advantage of their gender and have people gathered from around to beat the accused or they might even take you to the police.
Not all women are same and they shouldn’t be stereotyped. Some really have a sense of understanding!
